Research Chefs Association Approves
Bergen County Technical High School Culinology® Program
First High School Level RCA-Approved Program
ATLANTA (August 13 ,2008)—
The Research Chefs Association (RCA) has approved Bergen County Technical High School/Teterboro’s (BCTHS/Teterboro) Culinology/Food Science program, making this the first high school Culinology program approved by the association. The program integrates the culinary arts and food science into one curriculum that teaches the discipline of Culinology. Previously offered only on the undergraduate and professional development levels, Culinology® educational programs blend the two disciplines to offer students of all levels an interdisciplinary learning opportunity in the area of food product development.
The new high school level program will prepare students interested in earning an undergraduate degree in the area of Culinology and will guide them toward a future career in the food product development industry. The program will begin in school year 2008-2009.
BCTHS/Teterboro offers college preparatory academics and exceptional technical training in a dynamic learning environment. The school's faculty and administrative team continually strive to maintain a unique balance between tradition, innovation, and change. By following this adaptive posture, school programs are routinely refined and aligned with best practices in both academic and technical disciplines. Programs are demanding and engage students to think critically and solve problems at advanced levels. Students at BCTHS/Teterboro understand what it means to acquire and share knowledge and grow together as an educational community.
